MOT - Northern Ireland

Information applies to: Northern Ireland

The Ministry of Transport test (more usually known as the MOT) is an annual test of car safety, including roadworthiness aspects and exhaust emissions which are applicable to most vehicles over four years old in Northern Ireland if they are used on public roads.

The test certificate relates only to the condition of the testable items at the time of the test and should not be regarded as evidence of their condition at any other time; nor should it be accepted as evidence of the general mechanical condition of the vehicle

The Driver and Vehicle Agency (www.dvani.gov.ukexternal website) operates 15 MOT testing throughout Northern Ireland.  A strict routine is uniformly applied in all Test Centres to test the safety and roadworthiness of your vehicle.

For further information, including how to book an MOT test please visit – www.nidirect.gov.uk – Test appointmentexternal website

<sty Pull Quote>The MOT is the equivalent of the <WEM ILNK0004>NCT in the South
