For customers in NI or GB holding a BOI Maestro card issued on a UK account - Withdrawing cash from cash machines outside the UK and some cash machines in Ireland (excluding Bank of Ireland cash machines) will incur a flat fee of £1.50 plus 2.75% of the amount withdrawn (applied in Sterling; the machine should give customers notice that they may be charged).
For a Republic of Ireland Bank of Ireland customer. - There is no additional handling charge on a £100 withdrawal from a Bank of Ireland, Ulster, or First Trust ATM in NI. Only the standard current account transaction fee applies - for example, it is free for customers with a Free Banking package. However, a Bank of Ireland customer withdrawing £100 from a Northern Bank ATM (or from institution other than the above named) in NI the transaction will be processed as a Cirrus transaction and will incur a charge of
3.50 applies (based on the standard Cirrus charge applicable to non-euro transaction of 3.5% of the transaction amount with a minimum charge of 3.17 and a maximum charge of 11.43.). (This charge includes the Bank of Ireland current account transaction fees, foreign exchange margin and international network fees).
